Baros Maldives from above

Travelling the Maldives

Between myself and the team, we’ve visited over 20 stunning islands and having just returned from another amazing trip to the Maldives, I just have to say it gets better every time.

Which island?

There’s plenty to choose from and something for everybody. During my latest trip in April 2023, I visited 5 islands – here’s the low down!

Baros is the epitome of traditional Maldives, perfect for first timers, and the best house reef.

The Nautilus Island, where time has no bounds, or their service capability, you get what you want and when you want it. They offer houses, not villas, which you won’t want to leave. This island will make you feel like you’re the only one there!

Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru   the island that truly offers everything and will cater for all traveller tastes. The most generous living space, every staff member will know your name by the time you arrive. Just stunning in every way. A top pick for The Maldives overall.

Four Seasons Private Island – The title says it all. This place is buy-out only and can sleep up to 21 people in total. They say a guest only needs to use their imagination in terms of what is possible on this island. Staffed by a 30-strong team, your wish is their command.

Four Seasons Kuda Huraa – The star of our amazing offer this month! This charming resort offers a whole different vibe, ideal for the mature couple and families, the price point is excellent for the offering and only 25 mins via speedboat to the airport. Great when travelling with young children. Their food is amazing and such a great team. Take advantage of the offer this month, it’s an amazing deal!

Our favourite things to do in the Maldives

🌅 A sunset cruise and dolphin watching: Enjoy the stunning colours of the perfect sunset while sipping on a cocktail and spotting dolphins leaping out the water.

🐬 Snorkelling! Baros have one of the best reefs in the Maldives, with some of the clearest waters around. You’ll have chance to see the most amazing sea life, up close and personal.

🏖 Island-hopping: Consider hopping over to another island for a day trip or a few nights stay. Each island has its own unique character and attractions. I’ve tried and tested this and it’s an amazing adventure!

💃 Boduberu: This traditional drumming and dance performance is a must-see for anyone interested in Maldivian culture. Look out for performances at resorts and local events.

🍤 Mailaidhoo have the best traditional Maldivian restaurant, Ba’theli.

🥩 The Lighthouse restaurant at Baros served up the best kobe beef and mash potatoes I’ve ever tasted.

🌱 They also have some of the best vegan offerings around. Amilla Resort, Soneva Fushi, LUC South Ari Atoll and Six Senses all offer incredible vegan food.

We hope these recommendations help you visualise your dream Maldives vacation! Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need help with your travel plans.
